Here We Go... |

The Route
|
Day 1:
For our International visitors: arriving in South Africa is where the adventure and FUN begin. We will pick you up where you stay or at the airport and transfer you to our overnight destination: Ai-Ais at the FISHRIVER CANYON. |
Day 2:
After breakfast we will travel by shuttle from Ai-Ais to Hobas, the starting point of the hike. Downhill is were we go from here, 4km and 400m horizontally down to the riverbed. From here it is boulder hopping and sandy paths to our first overnight campsite " Vespa Inn" |

Hot water sulpher spring. |
Day 3:
Early rise and breakfast is how the routine will be from day three. We follow the river and bath in the hot water at the sulpher spring. Rest, relax before we carry on.
|
Day 4:
Early morning start again ( watch out for animal tracks at the waters edge ). We follow the river for a longer hike than day one and two. The going is easier as the boulders are left behind. We follow the wild horses path and might be lucky to see them. |

Sunset
|
Day 5:
Today will be our longest day. Easy hiking conditions AND the backpacks are getting lighter. On this day baboons are normally sighted as well as the wild horses. Numerous river crossings are on the menu for the day. A nice sunset might be on the cards as well. |
Day 6:
Todat is the last part of the hike. About 4 hours hiking and then RELAXING in the hot water of Ai-Ais again. I am spending the afternoon in the hot water swimming pool. You may go for a strole and look at the hot water spring exit point at Ai-Ais. |
